A running toilet is one of those problems that's easy to ignore - until you realize it's been running nonstop for days, wasting water and driving up utility costs. That's exactly what we were dealing with at a local business here in Colleyville, TX. The toilet wouldn't stop cycling, and for a commercial space that gets regular use, that's not something you can just put off.

We pulled the tank lid and went straight to the source. The fill valve and flush valve assembly inside the Kohler tank were the culprits. When these internal components wear out or fail, the tank can't hold water at the right level - so it just keeps running trying to compensate. It's a common failure point, and one that's easy to misdiagnose if you don't know what you're looking for.

Once we had the issue pinned down, we got to work replacing what needed to go. New components in, everything seated and adjusted correctly. Then we ran through a full check to make sure the tank was filling properly, shutting off at the right level, and flushing clean every time. No shortcuts.

That's really the thing about toilet repair - it's not always obvious what's causing the problem. Sometimes it's the flapper, sometimes it's the fill valve, sometimes it's both. Getting it diagnosed right the first time is what saves you from calling a plumber twice. Small plumbing issues have a way of turning into bigger, more expensive ones when they sit too long.
