Grease buildup is one of the sneakiest plumbing problems out there. It doesn't happen overnight - it builds up slowly inside your drain pipes until one day your sink just stops draining. And sometimes, by the time you notice the slow drain, the pipe itself has already taken damage.

That's exactly what we were dealing with here. A North Richland Hills kitchen sink that had stopped doing its job. The drain was sluggish, and when we got under the cabinet, we found a broken pipe fitting that had been struggling under years of grease and buildup. The fitting had cracked and come apart - there was no patching it. It needed to come out completely.

We pulled the damaged section, cleared out all the debris caked inside the line, and ran our drain snake through to make sure the line was fully open before putting anything back together. We used a General Pipe Cleaners machine to get deep into the line - not just the section under the sink, but further down to make sure we weren't just moving the problem somewhere else. Fresh PVC fittings went in, everything was properly seated and secured, and the garbage disposal was reconnected clean.

What you end up with after a job like this is more than just a working sink. You get peace of mind knowing the pipe isn't slowly leaking inside your cabinet, warping the floor of your cabinet or creating moisture problems you can't see. Slow drains and cracked fittings don't fix themselves - they get worse.

If your kitchen sink is draining slow, making gurgling sounds, or you've spotted moisture under the cabinet, don't sit on it. That's usually the first sign that something bigger is going on underneath.
