A hot water leak is not the kind of thing you want to sit on. What starts as a small drip under the floor can quietly soak into your subfloor, your framing, and your insulation - sometimes for weeks before you even notice it. By the time you see a water stain or get a sky-high water bill, the damage is already done.
This one came to us as an emergency call in Euless. The leak was buried down in the subfloor cavity, tucked in tight between framing members with a tangle of existing lines running through the space. Not easy to get to. That kind of access makes a lot of plumbers nervous - but it's exactly the type of situation we deal with regularly.
We traced the problem back to the hot water line and got to work on the repair and replacement. The corroded, failing section of pipe had to come out completely. You can see the green oxidation on the older copper - that buildup tells you the pipe had been struggling for a while. Fresh copper was run and properly fitted to restore the line and seal everything up tight.
The whole point of catching a leak like this early is avoiding a much bigger repair bill down the road. Wet framing, mold growth, damaged insulation - those aren't cheap fixes. If you've noticed moisture around your floors, unexplained stains, or a water bill that's crept up for no obvious reason, it's worth getting someone out to take a look before it gets worse.
