Commercial restrooms take a beating. High traffic, constant use, and aging components all add up fast. When something goes wrong - a leaking drain, a flush that won't stop running, a vacuum breaker that's given out - it's not just an inconvenience. It's a problem that can disrupt your whole operation.
On this call, we handled three separate issues in one visit. We rebuilt a flush valve that wasn't doing its job, stopped a leaking lavatory drain, and swapped out a worn vacuum breaker. Each one of those sounds like a small fix. And individually, they kind of are. But when all three are working against you at the same time, that restroom becomes a liability.
The flush valve rebuild is one of those repairs we see all the time in commercial settings. Flushometer-style toilets like this one rely on that valve to control the flush cycle. When the internal components wear out, you get weak flushes, phantom running, or constant water loss. Rebuilding it - rather than replacing the whole fixture - saves money and gets things back to working the way they should.
The vacuum breaker replacement is worth mentioning too. That component sits on the flushometer and prevents backflow, keeping non-potable water from contaminating the supply line. It's a code-required part, and when it fails, it can cause water to drip or spray from the side of the unit. Not exactly something you want your customers or employees dealing with.
Reliable plumbing in a commercial space is one of those things nobody notices when it's working right - and everybody notices when it's not. That's kind of the goal. Get in, fix it properly, and get your restroom back to doing its job without any drama.
